SAN DIEGO, California — University of Iowa sophomore Alexa Noel cruised to victory over Princeton’s Victoria Hu (6-2, 6-2) on Thursday to advance to the Round of 16 of the ITA Fall National Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center. Noel will face Reilly Tran of North Carolina on Friday.
“Great win from Alexa today,” said head coach Sasha Schmid. “Every match in San Diego is hard-fought with great opponents. She had a great first round, settled in nicely, and had a nice win. I’m super proud of her and another great opportunity tomorrow where I know she will compete hard. I am excited to watch her thrive at the highest level of collegiate tennis.”
