Hawkeyes to Host St. Thomas on Wednesday

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa baseball team will host St. Thomas on Wednesday at 2:05 p.m. (CT) at Duane Banks Field. Admission is $2.

Iowa brings a 11-3 overall record into the contest while St. Thomas is 1-8 overall.

The Tommies defeated CSU-Bakersfield on February 18, before losing six straight. As a team St. Thomas is hitting .197 and its pitching staff has a 4.68 ERA. They are led by Richard Briggs who is hitting .297 and Ben Vujovich with five RBIs.

The Hawkeyes won one game of a three-game set with Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, last weekend. Overall, the Hawkeyes are hitting .292 as a team while averaging 8 runs per game. The Iowa pitching staff has a 4.32 ERA.

Fifth-year Brennen Dorighi leads the team with a .382 batting average and 18 RBIs. Redshirt sophomore Keaton Anthony leads the team with four home runs and redshirt junior Kyle Huckstorf has seven stolen bases.
