Clark, Czinano Named WBCA Region 4 Finalists

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa tandem of Caitlin Clark and Monika Czinano were named Region 4 finalists for WBCA All-American honors, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Clark is eyeing her third straight appearance on the All-Region 4 team and third All-America nod from the organization. Czinano earned honorable mention in 2022. Iowa has had 10 All-Americans in program history from the WBCA, Clark would be the first Hawkeye to three peat.

Clark continues to lead to most prolific offense in college basketball, averaging 26.9 points per game, 8.5 assists, and 7.3 rebounds. Over the weekend, Clark became the second Hawkeye to eclipse 900 points in a single season. The junior from West Des Moines, Iowa, needs only three points to have the second most points in Big Ten conference history in a single season (912). Clark broke the record most assists by any Big Ten player in a single season against Georgia.

Czinano continues her streak of four straight season in the top-4 nationally in field goal percentage. The Watertown, Minnesota native, is shooting the rock at 67.5% this season. Czinano took zero dribbles in Iowa’s victory over Georgia to advance to the Sweet 16 on Sunday. She registered 20 points and nine rebounds.

The 2-Seeded Hawkeyes are set to square off with 6-Seed Colorado on Friday at 6:30 p.m. (CT) inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. The game will broadcast coast-to-coast on ESPN.
