Hawkeyes Host Panthers for Midweek Matchup

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa baseball team welcomes Milwaukee on Wednesday for a midweek matchup with the Panthers at 4:05 p.m. (CT) at Duane Banks Field. Admission is $2.

Iowa brings a 22-8 overall record into the contest, while Milwaukee is 14-14 overall.

The Panthers hold series wins over North Alabama, Pacific and Wright State. Milwaukee also has wins over Minnesota, SEMO, Murray State, Concordia Wisconsin, Youngstown State and Oakland.

As a team, Milwaukee is hitting .261 and its pitching staff has a 4.82 ERA. They are led by Aaron Chapman with a .392 batting average, and Mark Connelly with 24 RBIs.

Last week, the Hawkeyes won a midweek game against Bradley and took one game of a three-game series with Indiana. Overall, the Hawkeyes are hitting .291 as a team, while averaging 8.16 runs per game. The Iowa pitching staff has a 4.13 ERA.

Brennen Dorighi leads the team with a .349 batting average. Dorighi and Sam Hojnar are tied for the team lead with 31 RBIs followed by Kyle Huckstorf with 29.

Keaton Anthony leads the team with six home runs and Huckstorf has 10 stolen bases. Anthony ranks seventh in the country with 15 doubles and fifth in doubles per game (0.50).
