IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa baseball student athlete Sam Petersen was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday. Petersen is a finance major.
The Huxley, Iowa, native has a .344/.460/.641 slash line in 128 plate appearances. He has appeared in 40 games for the Hawkeyes starting in 38 of those games. Petersen has tallied nine doubles, nine home runs, and 39 RBIs. He has stolen 16 bases in 18 attempts.
Petersen will advance to the national ballot. To qualify for the honor, each student-athlete was required to post at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA while seeing action in a minimum threshold of competitions.
