Hayashida Dominates on Day One of ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – University of Iowa sophomore Daianne Hayashida opened day one of the 2023 ITA All-American Championships in a victorious fashion on Saturday morning.

Hayashida opened her first match of the tournament with a straight-set win over Clemson’s Cristina Mayorova, 6-3, 6-4.

Hayashida will face either Arizona State’s Giulia Morlet or Austin Peay’s Jana Leder in the Round of 64 on Sunday. A win will advance her to Round of 32, where she would be guaranteed at least two additional matches.
