2020 Honors — Academic All-Big Ten selection. 2020 — Season canceled by Big Ten Conference and NCAA on March 12 due to concerns of coronavirus (COVID-19)… one of four team captains… started 13 games — 10 at catcher, twice as the DH, and once in left field… hit .277 (13-of-47) with three RBIs and nine runs scored… hit safely in 10 games with three multi-hit contests… hit a walk-off, 10th-inning home run in a 5-4 victory over No. 20 North Carolina (2/29)… finished 2-for-4 with two runs and a double in the win over No. 18 Arizona (2/22)… went 2-for-4 on Opening Day against Kent State (2/14)… named to the Buster Posey Watch List for a second straight season… named to the Big Ten Preseason Honors List.

2019 — Started 53 games — 49 behind the plate and four times as the DH… hit .294 (58-of-197) with 10 doubles, two triples, and two home runs… hit safely in 34 games… had a team-leading 18 multi-hit games (12 2-hit, five 3-hit, one 4-hit)… had two hits, finishing 2-for-4 with a double and triple in game two against Michigan State (5/11)… finished 3-for-6 with an RBI and run scored in game two win at Ohio State (4/27)… went 2-for-6 with a game-tying RBI single in the 11th in the walk-off win over Milwaukee (4/23)… went 3-for-5 with two RBIs in midweek win over Northern Illinois (4/16)… went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs in series opener against No. 23 Illinois (3/29)… had a two-run triple in the series finale (3/30)… had a career-high four hits, finishing 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs against Illinois State (4/3)… went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs against Chicago State (3/20)… had the game-tying RBI double in the ninth and scored the game-winning run in the 5-4 walk-off victory… had a pair of two-hit games at Evansville (3/9-10), going 2-for-2 with three runs in opener and 2-for-4 in finale… finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and two runs scored in the game two win at No. 19 Oklahoma State… hit his second home run of the season… had the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the ninth to give Iowa a 3-2 win in the series finale (3/2) in Stillwater… went 3-for-5 with a double and RBI at Hawaii (2/23)… went 2-for-3 with his first career home run in the season opener against George Mason (2/15)… named to the Buster Posey Watch List.

At Southeastern CC (2017-2018) — Hit .309 with 32 RBIs, 46 runs, and three home runs as a sophomore… helped team to a conference title in 2018… had a .304 average with 10 doubles and three home runs as a freshman… also scored 36 runs and drove in 26 RBIs… was a first-team academic all-region honoree… coached by Justin Schulte.

High School — Two-time all-state honoree, earning first team accolades as a senior… hit .340 as a senior… helped guide Southeast Polk to back-to-back state titles in 2014 and 2015… member of Southeast Polk’s Wall of Fame… played club ball for the Altoona Curve (8U-12U) and Rams Baseball Club… was a 2016 All-Star in hockey, where he was a two-time team captain… academic letter honoree all four years… high school coach was Scott Belger.

Personal — Born Feb. 23, 1998, in Des Moines, Iowa… son of Steve and Kerri Martin… has two younger siblings, Evan and Owen… father played baseball at Iowa Central Community College… majoring in finance.
