- Lettered all four years at Winterset Senior High School
- Was a three-time first-team all-conference, all-district and all-conference performer
- Named the PBR Iowa Player of the Year as a senior
- Selected to the All-State Superteam after helping lead high school team to its second straight appearance in the state tournament as a senior
- Helped team break a 20-year state tournament appearance drought as a junior
- Earned second-team all-conference, first-team all-district and third-team all-state as a freshman
- Played with the Iowa Sticks organization
- Participated in numerous PBR and PG events
- Member of the Cincinnati Reds Scout Team… also appeared with the White Sox in the 2021 Area Code Games
- Led the state of Iowa in strikeouts and set the school record with 125 as a senior
- Posted the fifth-lowest ERA (1.02) in school history
- Won 18 games in his career while collecting 300 strikeouts
- Four-time first-team academic all-state.
