The Aggies went on a roll of their own, winning matches at 174, 184 and 197 before Hawkeye freshman Matt Fields ended the dual with a 15-6 major decision at heavyweight.

Iowa dominated the Aggies in the first six matches, holding a 26-2 takedown advantage and scoring four major decisions. Junior Joe Johnston (157), redshirt freshman Mark Perry (165) and freshmen Charlie Falck (125) and Alex Tsirtsis (141) all scored major decisions, while Mario Galanakis scored a 5-4 upset over Derek Moore, who is ranked in the top 20 at 133.
