Hawkeyes Complete Day Two of Midwest Region Competition

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Iowa men’s tennis team completed the second day of Midwest Regional competition today. Christian Bierich and Chaitu Malempati defeated Brian Hanus and Alex Roby of Bradley, 8-2 in first round of doubles competition while Brett Taylor and Bart van-Monsjou fell to Brett Helgeson and Sheeva Parbhu of Notre Dame, 8-6.

Competing in singles competition today were Bierich and Malempati. Bierich defeated Colin Foster of Purdue, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in second round qualifying singles play and fell to Robert Rotaru of Louisville, 6-7, 6-2, 6-1. Malempati was defeated by Lachezar Kasarov of Wisconsin, 6-2, 6-2.
