IOWA CITY, IA – The #35 Iowa women’s gymnastics team hosted #23 Illinois tonight at the UI Fieldhouse. Illinois defeated Iowa, 193.850-193.025. Iowa moves to 1-9 on the season.
On vault, senior Kortny Williamson tied for first with Michelle McGrady of Illinois with a 9.825. Beth Dilick, Liz Grajewski, and Jennifer Simbhudas were all tied for third on vault with a 9.775.
On bars, Beth Dilick had the best showing for Iowa, posting a second place 9.8. Katie Burke placed third with a 9.775, Liz Grajewski placed fourth with a 9.75, and Natalie Padilla placed sixth with a 9.725.
On beam, Grajewski placed and Williamson tied for fourth place with a 9.625. Brandi Loffer placed sixth with a 9.55.
Grajewski finished first on floor exercise, posting a 9.775 in the event, while Dilick and Williamson tied for third with a 9.7. Grajewski placed first in the all-around with a 38.925.
The Hawkeyes return to action Saturday, February 25th at Texas Woman’s University. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m.
