IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa baseball team will kick-off the 2007 season with the fourth annual Lead-Off Dinner Monday, February 19, at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. A special V.I.P. reception begins at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner and program beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The program will feature talks from Iowa Head Coach Jack Dahm and 2006 National League Manager of the Year Joe Girardi. There will be silent and live auctions for sports memorabilia, including one-of-a-kind live and silent auction items from Ryne Sandberg, Ozzie Smith, Harmon Killebrew, Deion Sanders, Kirk Hinrich, Bruce Sutter, Wade Boggs, Reggie Jackson, Mark Prior, Desmond Howard and with many more current and former professional athletes.There will also be Hawkeye memorabilia, suites at Cedar Rapids Kernels and Iowa Cubs games, Iowa Football Club Seats, tickets to Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals games, and more.
“We’re excited to be staging the fourth annual Lead-Off Dinner event,” Dahm said. “Last year was a huge success with Tommy Lasorda and we look to build upon that success this year with Joe Girardi. This is an excellent opportunity for fans to meet the 2007 edition of the Iowa Baseball team, honor the 2006 senior class and also an opportunity to listen to Joe, who was a former Big Ten student-athlete, speak.”
Tables of nine people can be reserved for $420, and includes V.I.P. reception access for your entire table.
Tickets for the dinner and program are $35 for adults and $20 for children 12 and under. V.I.P. seats are available for $55, which also includes the V.I.P reception.
