IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa Men’s Gymnastics team beat Illinois-Chicago Saturday in the UI Fieldhouse. The Hawkeyes scored 200.35, while the Flames posted 186.4.

Jonathan Buese won the all-around for the second time this season, scoring a 47.0. The Hawkeyes took the top three spots on floor exercise, pommel horse and vault. Geoff Reins won vault (8.95) and floor (9.35). On floor exercise, Dusty Cranmer finished second (9.1), Reid Urbain finished third (8.9), Diego Mercado-Austin finished fourth (8.7) and Jacob Becker finished fifth (8.5). Becker also placed first on parallel bars, scoring 8.95. J. Buese placed second on rings (9.1) and vault (8.35) and placed third on parallel bars, scoring 8.35.

Iowa stays at home next weekend to compete against Minnesota in the UI Fieldhouse. Competition is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
