Head Coach Gayle Blevins
“In game one today, it was really great for us to come from behind and get the win. We had some clutch at-bats to put us in the lead.”
“I thought Amanda (Zust) did a great job in relief against Marist. She came in a pressure situation with the bases loaded and got the job done. That really helped us swing the momentum.”
“In game two, we took advantage of a couple miscues by Stetson to get an early lead. Once they made a pitching change, we didn’t do a great job adjusting. We needed to produce runs and keep offensive pressure on Stetson, but we didn’t get those quality at-bats like we did in the first game.”
“Stetson was a good hitting team. I thought Steph (Ackerson) did a nice job in relief for us tonight.”
Sophomore Erin Riemersma
“We came out strong today in game one. People were aggressive and we knew Marist would come out strong. We kept putting runs on the board and we made good adjustments to get the win.”
“We struggled with our timing in the second game after Stetson made the pitching change. We just couldn’t make solid contact.”
“We kind of turned lackluster during the middle innings when we were playing with the lead. We stopped putting offensive pressure on them and they did a nice job of fighting back.”
“It would be great to beat Stetson to end the weekend. It would be a fitting way to wrap up our first weekend of play. I think the positives will carry over into practice and give us some great momentum heading into a tough weekend at Arizona State.”
