For 30 years, the University of Iowa softball program was among the nation’s elite with 4 Big Ten titles, 4 Women’s College World Series appearances and 16 All-Americans. The Hawkeyes were Big Ten title contenders every year and made the NCAA tournament with consistency.

In 2020, the Hawkeyes are a rejuvenated program under the direction of Head coach Renee Gillsipie, the Danville, Iowa, native returned to Iowa in 2018 after 18 years at UCF where she consistently led the Knights to the postseason. With a goal of acquiring the state’s best talent on and off the field, the Hawkeyes look to reclaim their spot among not only the Big Ten’s best, but in the nation.

Those willing to take their education and softball talent to the next level need to look no further than Iowa City. The philosophy of the Iowa softball program is to Commit, Compete, and Connect, which supports the development of our student-athletes. Iowa softball players will maximize their potential on the field and in the classroom to establish a bright future in all aspects of life.
