11th-ranked Iowa Upsets 9th-ranked Nebraska

IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa Men’s Gymnastics team defeated Nebraska, 205.050-204.200. Iowa scored a team total 36.8 on rings, which was a season high on the event.

On floor exercise, Geoff Reins placed first with a 9.3, while Curtis Kleffman scored a personal high 9.2 for a second place finish. Diego Mercado-Austin tied his personal best in the event, scoring 8.85 to tie for fifth place. On pommel horse, Jacob Becker tied for first with an 8.85, and Joel Snyder posted a personal best 8.15 for an eighth place finish.

On rings, Jacques Bouchard tied for first, scoring 9.45, while Kleffman came in fourth with a 9.15. On vault, Kleffman won the event with an 8.7, and Reins finished fifth, scoring 8.35. On parallel bars, Jonathan Buese posted the best score for the Hawkeyes, with a third-place 8.85. Dusty Cranmer placed fifth, scoring 8.7. On the high bar, Matt Beiler placed third, scoring 7.65, while J. Buese and Snyder tied for fourth with a 7.55

Iowa will travel to Champaign, IL, to take on the Fighting Illini, March 3rd at 2 p.m.
