Iowa saw scoring chances late in the second half when sophomore Alexandria Seydel hit a shot wide of the goal in the 68th minute. Senior Melisa Kaetterhenry nearly netted a game-winning goal in the 81st minute off a cross from senior Kelsie Full, but the shot sailed over the crossbar.

Senior Lindsey Boldt started the match in goal and recorded four saves and two key defensive stops inside the 18-yard box. Freshman Kali Feiereisel entered the match in the 76th minute and kept the shutout intact throughout the overtime periods.

Leading the Hawkeyes offensively was Seydel, who recorded four shots. Kaetterhenry tallied three shots and junior Stephanie Hyink added two shots, both of which were on target.

Iowa opens its season next weekend at the Northern Illinois Tournament. The Hawkeyes will face Navy at 2 p.m. Friday.
