The University of Iowa men’s golf team completed day two at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic. The Hawkeyes shot an 18-hole score of 297 (+17). Iowa is in ninth place out of 12 teams with a 36-hole score of 596 (+36). Michigan State is the front-runner with a 36-hole score of 559 (-1) after day two.
Freshman Vince India led the Hawkeyes, firing a one-under round of 69. He is currently tied for eighth place in the first tournament of his career with a 36-hole score of 143 (+3). After a strong outing on day one, senior Todd Larson shot a 78 Monday to tie for 25th overall. Cole Peevler is tied for 34th after shooting a 76 on day two. Additionally, Dan Holterhaus is in 62nd place after a score of 74 and Adam Miller is in 69th place overall after a round of 80. Michigan State’s Ryan Brehm leads the field with a 36-hole score of 136 (-4).
Play will conclude Tuesday with tee times starting at 8:30 am. Iowa’s first tee time is schedule for 9:20 am.
