TUCSON, AZ – The University of Iowa men’s golf team finished its first day of competition at the National Invitational Tournament. The Hawkeyes recorded an 18-hole score of 299 (+11) Sunday. Iowa is currently tied for 12th in the 15-team field. TCU is the front-runner after day one with a 275 (-13).
Senior Dan Holterhaus led the Hawkeyes Sunday. Holterhaus is tied for 17th overall after firing an even par 72. Senior Adam Miller and junior Cole Peevler both posted scores of 75 (+3). They are tied for 45th overall. Freshman Vince India shot 77 (+5) to tie for 63rd. In addition, senior Todd Larson is currently tied for 70th after posting a 79 (+7).
The Hawkeyes will continue play at the 2008 National Invitational Tournament Monday. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
