WEST POINT, NY – Iowa gymnast Mike Jiang qualified for the individual finals at the NCCA Men’s Gymnastics Championships on pommel horse Friday night after placing seventh (14.550).
Three other Hawkeyes competed Friday night at Christl Arena. Jonathan Buese competed for Iowa on high bar, placing 43rd with a 13.500. Zach Cazabon finished in 42nd on parallel bars with a 13.400. Matt McGrath placed 45th on vault with a 14.850.
Jiang will compete Saturday. The junior is vying for sixth place or higher to earn All-American honors. Competition is set to start at 6 p.m. (CST)
