LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – – The University of Iowa field hockey team lost at Lock Haven Sunday, 4-0. The match was held at Charlotte E. Smith Field.
Lock Haven struck first in the 20th minute of play. Tonia-Marie James knocked in a rebound in front of the cage to give the Lady Eagles a 1-0 advantage. Later, just minutes before the end of the first half, Kristi Shepps scored to give Lock Haven a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Shepps added another goal minutes into the start of the period. She later added a third score to give Lock Haven a 4-0 advantage.
Iowa (3-8) returns home to Iowa City next weekend. The Black and Gold will host Big Ten rival Michigan Sunday at Grant Field. The match is scheduled to begin at noon and can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.
