IOWA CITY, Iowa — Head coach Marla Looper and the University of Iowa softball team will host the eighth annual “Meet the Hawks” night Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 6:30-8 p.m. inside the UI Bubble. The event is free and open to the public.
The Hawkeyes will hold a team scrimmage from 6:30-7:15 p.m. allowing fans to get an early look at the 2012 squad. From 7:15-7:45 p.m., there will be interactive stations and at 7:45 p.m. coach Looper will talk to fans and introduce the current Hawkeyes.
At the conclusion of the program, Iowa coaches and student-athletes will be available to sign autographs.
Iowa softball posters, schedule cards and magnets will be available for fans to pick up. Fans will also have the opportunity to register to win prizes, including signed helmets, bats and softballs, as well as Hawkeye softball gear and Iowa prize packs.
MEDIA NOTE: This event will also serve as “Media Day” for the Iowa softball team. Players and coaches will be available at 5:45 p.m. in the lobby of the UI Bubble for interviews. Media members are encouraged to stay to watch the team scrimmage beginning at 6:30 p.m.
