ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Iowa softball team’s series opener at Michigan on Friday night has been postponed due to inclement weather in the area. The game was scheduled to begin at the Wilpon Complex at 5 p.m. (CT). The contest will now be played on Sunday at 11 a.m. (CT), as part of a doubleheader.
Sunday’s doubleheader will conclude with the series finale at 2:05 p.m. (CT). It will be shown live on BTN. Lisa Byington and Jennie Ritter will call the action.
The Hawkeyes and Wolverines will open the three-game series at 1 p.m. (CT) on Saturday.
Michigan (36-7, 13-0), winner of 18-straight games, and Iowa (24-16, 4-8), have not met since 2011. Iowa downed No. 1 Michigan in the opener that year (April 23), 4-2, earning its first victory over a top-ranked team since 2005.
Fans can listen to all three contests live via the All-Access page at hawkeyesports.com. Jon Swisher will call the action. Fans can also follow the action at hawkeyesports.com, where live stats (Gametracker) will be available. The live “GT” can be found under the calendar tab on the right-hand side of the hawkeyesports.com home page, or on the softball schedule page.
