UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Rain has postponed the University of Iowa baseball team’s series opener at Penn State, which was scheduled for a 5 p.m. (CT) start at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Hawkeyes and Nittany Lions will now play a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1:05 p.m.
Senior Matt Dermody (6-1, 3.77 ERA) will take the hill for Iowa in the opener, facing Penn State right-hander T.J. Jann (1-4, 3.79 ERA). Senior Andrew Hanse (2-2, 4.76 ERA) will square off against PSU right-hander Steven Hill (1-6, 3.65 ERA) in game two.
Sunday’s series finale is still slated for an 11:05 a.m. start.
