IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa softball team’s home game against Marshalltown Community College on Friday, Oct. 4 at Pearl Field has been pushed forward. First pitch will now occur at 6 p.m. to avoid inclement weather.
The Hawkeyes opened fall play last weekend at the All Iowa Classic in Iowa City. Iowa posted a 2-2 record in the two-day event, picking up a pair of wins on Saturday, Sept. 28 and dropping two contests on Sunday, Sept. 29. The squad defeated Drake 2-1 in eight innings, and came from behind to defeat Iowa State, 5-4, in the nightcap. In Sunday afternoon action, Iowa fell to Northern Iowa 8-0 and Upper Iowa 5-3.
UI softball wraps up its fall season with a pair of home contests on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Hawkeyes are scheduled to take on Kansas at 1 p.m. and Kirkwood Community College at 3:30 p.m.
