IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa women’s tennis players Morven McCulloch, Ruth Seaborne, Katie Zordani and Shelby Talcott travel to Norman, Okla., this week to compete in the ITA Central Region Championships beginning on Thursday.
In addition to Iowa, a total of 21 schools will be represented, including Big Ten rivals Minnesota and Nebraska. All competition will take place at the Headington Family Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.
“This is another great opportunity for us to compete against top teams, this time in our region,” said UI head coach Katie Dougherty. “The team has had two good weeks of preparation since the Yale tournament and we’ve seen a lot of improvement. I look forward to watching that translate in quality matches and putting ourselves in a position to be successful.”
Juniors Morven McCulloch and Katie Zordani compete in the singles qualifying brackets Thursday starting at 8 a.m. (CT). Both must win two matches in order to advance to Friday’s main draws with fellow Hawkeyes Ruth Seaborne and Shelby Talcott.
Main draws for both singles and doubles will not be sent out until tomorrow.
