IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s tennis team competes at the ITA Central Regional Championships starting this Thursday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The three-day tournament will be held at the Greenwood Tennis Center, hosted by Oklahoma State University.
“The ITA Central Regional is a great opportunity to compete against all of the teams in our region from the top down,” said UI head coach Katie Dougherty, “The four we have competing have a tournament or two under their belt and we’ll look to build off those performances as well as a couple of solid weeks of practice.”
In addition to Iowa, tournament participants include Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Missouri, Missouri State, Minnesota, Wichita State, Tulsa, Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Nebraska, Nebraska-Omaha, UMKC, Oral Roberts, Drake, and St. Louis.
Hawkeyes competing in the tournament include Annette Dohanics, Zoe Douglas, Natalie Looney, and Anastasia Reimchen. All four players are making their ITA Regional debuts.
Tournament draws will be released Wednesday afternoon.
