THIS WEEK FOR THE HAWKEYES
The University of Iowa women’s tennis team hosts the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota this weekend at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. The Hawkeyes face Wisconsin on Friday at 5 p.m. (CT) and Minnesota on Sunday at 11 a.m.

TAKING ON THE BADGERS AND THE GOPHERS
The Hawkeyes have faced the Badgers 48 times in program history, holding a 9-39 record. The last time Iowa faced Wisconsin was in 2015 in Madison, Wisconsin, where the Hawkeyes fell to the Badgers in a close match, 4-3. Iowa last faced Minnesota in 2015 as well, falling 6-1. The Hawkeyes have faced the Gophers 58 times in program history and have a 21-37 record against the Gophers.

HUCKLEBY LEADING HAWKEYES IN SINGLES
Freshman Adorabol Huckleby holds the best singles record out of all the Hawkeyes in the starting lineup. Huckleby is 8-2 in singles play this season, her only two losses coming from Big Ten opponents at Indiana and against Maryland.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
The Hawkeyes are 8-1 at home, the only loss coming from Maryland this past weekend. Iowa opened the season with eight straight wins at home.

DOUBLES FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH
Juniors Aimee Tarun and Natalie Looney have played nearly every doubles match together this season. The duo has been teamed together for 13 matches and owns a record of 10-3. Prior to the 2016 season the two had never played a doubles match together.

FACING RANKED TEAMS
Iowa will face another ranked team this season on Sunday with Minnesota The Gophers are ranked 62nd in the nation in the latest ITA women’s tennis rankings. Minnesota will be the seventh ranked team Iowa has faced this season, the other six included Oregon, Oklahoma, Nebraska, DePaul, Indiana and South Florida on the road. The Hawkeyes defeated seven ranked opponents in 2010, Coach Dougherty’s first season with the Hawkeyes, finishing the season 17-7. Iowa last win against a ranked opponent was in 2014, when the Hawkeyes defeated No. 42 Illinois, 4-3.

IOWA VS. B1G
The Hawkeyes are 0-3 vs. Big Ten opponents, the Hawkeyes fell on the road to Nebraska and Indiana, as well as Maryland at home. The Hawkeyes dropped close matches against all three, falling to Indiana and Maryland 4-3.

COMING UP FOR THE HAWKEYES
Following weekend matches against Wisconsin and Minnesota, the Hawkeyes will hit the road to face Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday, March 30. The Hawkeyes will face Drake at 3 p.m. (CT).
