IOWA CITY, Iowa — Ten University of Iowa wrestlers travel to Las Vegas this week to compete at the 2016 Open Wrestling Championships on Friday and Saturday. The event is hosted by the South Point Hotel and features United States wrestlers in the United World Wrestling 17-20 year-old age group.
Hawkeyes competing in the UWW Junior Freestyle tournament field include redshirt freshman Skyler St. John, and true freshmen Cole Erickson, Jeren Glosser, Paul Glynn, Joey Gunther, Michael Kemerer, Aaron Meyer, Jeremiah Moody, Perez Perez, and Vince Turk.
Competition begins Friday at 6 p.m. (CT). Preliminary rounds, quarterfinals, and consolations continue Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., and medal rounds begin Saturday at 5 p.m.
