IOWA CITY, Iowa — Sophomore Anastasia Reimchen was named University of Iowa’s Sportsmanship Award winner Thursday night by the Big Ten Conference.
Reimchen, a native of Forest Row, England, finished the dual season with an 11-13 singles record, including a 9-11 mark at the No. 1 singles position. She also played at Iowa’s top doubles position, finishing the season with an 11-10 mark.
The Big Ten Conference awarded sportsmanship awards to one member of each of its 14 institutions. Other award winners include Jade Hilton (Illinois), Sarah McLean (Indiana), Kristina Hovsepyan (Maryland), Ronit Yurovsky (Michigan), Emily Metcalf (Michigan State), Maja Vujic (Minnesota), Kati Matysova (Nebraska), Alex Chatt (Northwestern), Ferny Angeles Paz (Ohio State), Katharine Whiteaway (Penn State), Natalia Davila (Purdue), Mariam Zein (Rutgers), and Ekaterina Stepanova (Wisconsin).
In addition to the conference honor, Reimchen was presented Iowa’s Grinder and Iron Hawk Awards at the team’s annual awards banquet Thursday night.
