IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa baseball team will host Grand View at 4:05 p.m. (CT) Tuesday at Duane Banks Field.  The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday but was altered because of rain in the forecast.

The Hawkeyes enter the midweek contest with a 13-9 record after taking 2-of-3 games from Purdue in their Big Ten conference series opener last weekend in Iowa City. After falling 2-0 in the series opener, Iowa used consecutive eighth-inning rallies to post 5-1 and 7-2 victories to take the series.

Iowa’s pitching staff posted a 1.67 ERA in the three contests, allowing just five runs in 27 innings.  The Hawkeyes had 30 strikeouts in the three games.

Senior Mason McCoy used a .600 (6-for-10) weekend to take over the team lead with a .386 batting average.  The mark is currently second in the Big Ten. Sophomore Robert Neustrom is third in the league with a .385 average, while freshman Ben Norman (.352), junior Jake Adams (.345), and sophomore Chris Whelan (.342) all rank among the Big Ten’s top 15 hitters.

Grand View is currently 10-8 overall, but the Vikings are in the midst of a Monday doubleheader against Graceland University as two games over the weekend were postposed.

The Vikings have six players hitting over .300 on the season, led by senior Ryan Curtis, who has a.409 average with eight extra base hits. Senior Michael Foggia leads the team with 25 RBIs.

Iowa will send freshman Grant Judkins to the mound for his fifth start of the season. The Pella, Iowa, native is 1-0 with a 7.20 ERA in six appearances and has 17 strikeouts to six walks in 15 innings. In his last outing — March 22 against Bradley — Judkins allowed one run on a single hit over three innings in a no-decision.

Tuesday’s game will be streamed online via BTN Plus on BTN2Go. The game will also be broadcast on the Hawkeye Radio Network/Hawkeye All-Access with Zach Mackey on the call.

Following the midweek matchup, the Hawkeyes continue their home stand with a three-game series against UNLV from March 31-April 2. Friday’s series opener is set for at 4:05 p.m. (CT) start.
