5 Hawkeyes Named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Five University of Iowa softball student-athletes earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year.
 
Current student-athletes Allison Doocy, Sarah Kurtz, and Angela Schmiederer, as well as 2017 UI graduates Kaitlyn Mullarkey and Shayla Starkenburg, each earned the distinction with a 3.5-or-higher GPA.
 
A record 7,351 softball players across seven membership divisions earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-17 academic year.
