Wood, Doocy, Pratt earn B1G Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa softball student-athletes Allie Wood, Allison Doocy, and Cheyenne Pratt received recognition from the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday. Wood and Doocy were named second team All-Big Ten selections, while Pratt was honored with the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. 
 
Doocy has started 28 games in the circle this season, racking up 186 strikeouts in 183.2 innings pitched. She leads the Hawkeyes with a 1.83 ERA, 186 strikeouts, and four shutouts. The Ankeny, Iowa, native jas earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors twice this season (April 9 and March 12). The All-Big Ten honor is the first of her career.
 
Wood has started 44 games in center field in 2018. She collected 39 putouts and owns a .957 fielding percentage. Wood leads the Hawkeyes with a .306 batting average, eight doubles, two triples, five home runs, and 21 RBIs. It is the first All-Big Ten honor of her career.
 
Pratt has played left field in all 51 games, playing a roll in 53 putouts and one assist. She leads the team with a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
The 12th-seeded Hawkeyes open Big Ten Tournament action against No. 5 Ohio State on Thursday at Goodman Diamond in Madison, Wisconsin. The winner will face fourth-seeded Northwestern in the quarterfinals on Friday at 7 p.m.
