IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa baseball team has 15 student-athletes playing in various summer leagues from coast-to-coast.
Seven Hawkeyes will stick around the Midwest in the Northwoods League, playing for four different teams. Juniors Adam Ketelsen and Lorenzo Elion, and freshman Drew Irvine will play for the Waterloo Bucks. Juniors Zeb Adreon and Austin Martin will play for the Fond Du Lac Spiders and sophomores Izaya Fullard and Trenton Wallace will play for the Lakeshore Chinooks.
Four Hawkeyes — redshirt freshman Brayden Frazier, junior Justin Jenkins, sophomore Brett McCleary, and freshman Brendan Sher — will play for the Terre Haute Rex in the Prospect League.
Redshirt freshman Connor McCaffery will travel to the Northeast to play for the Albany Dutchmen in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Junior Ben Norman will travel south to play in the Coastal Plains League for the Fayetteville Swampdogs.
Junior Matthew Sosa will return to his home state of California to play in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League for the Palm Springs Power.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Cam Baumann has a 10-day contract with the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod League.
