IOWA CITY, Iowa — For the first time in five years, the University of Iowa women’s soccer team is in TopDrawerSoccer.com’s top-25 national rankings, it was announced Monday. The Hawkeyes come in at No. 21.
Iowa finished the nonconference portion of its schedule with an undefeated 8-0 record after posting a 3-2 road victory at Notre Dame on Sept. 15. The Hawkeyes also have a road victory at No. 14 NC State.
The ranking is Iowa’s highest in school history by the outlet and it is the first time since 2014 the program has appeared in TopDrawerSoccer’s Top-25. The Hawkeyes were ranked 25th on Sept. 22, 2014.
Iowa opens Big Ten play Friday in Bloomington, Indiana, against the Hoosiers at 2 p.m. (CT).
