Iowa Makes It 14 Straight

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.  It is the 14th straight year the Hawkeyes have received the recognition.

Iowa was among a total of 557 women’s soccer teams from across the country to receive the honor. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.

The Hawkeyes held a 3.63 team grade point average during the 2019-20 academic year. The program has received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award 18 times in its history.

Iowa’s fall season has been postponed because of the global coronavirus pandemic.  The 2020 season will be played in the spring with a start date of Feb. 3.
