Sammy Brooks to Compete at U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team Trials

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Two-time University of Iowa All-American and current Hawkeye Wrestling Club member Sammy Brooks competes Friday and Saturday at the United States Olympic Wrestling Team Trials in Fort Worth, Texas.

Brooks, a U23 World Team member, is the No. 8 seed at 86 kg. The winner of the 86 kg men’s freestyle bracket and 15 of the 18 winners of the Trials events will guarantee themselves the opportunity to compete for Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics this summer. The 2020 Summer Olympics are scheduled for July 23-Aug. 8 in Tokyo Japan.
