Iowa Falls at Nebraska in Regular Season Finale

LINCOLN, Nebraska — The University of Iowa soccer team closed out the regular season with a 1-0 loss at Nebraska on Saturday afternoon at Hibner Stadium.

Husker freshman Gwen Lane converted her first career goal in the 22nd minute for the only score of the day.

The Hawkeyes put up a valiant 22 shot attempts (compared to Nebraska’s nine) but were unable to find the net. With Saturday’s total, Iowa outshot opponents in six of 11 games this year.

Freshman goalkeeper Macy Enneking has still given up just two goals in 412:03 minutes of game time this season, holding opponents to one score (2) or a shutout (2) in each of her four starts this season.

OF NOTE
– Junior Hailey Rydberg led Iowa with six shots, bringing her season total to a team-high 29 shots. A number of Hawkeyes got multiple looks; Samantha Tawharu also took five shots, while Meike Ingles and Josie Durr each attempted four.
– 90 TRACKER: Three Iowa position players played the entirety of Saturday’s game. They are: Rielee Fetty (7), Aleisha Ganief (5), and Diane Senkowski (5).

With the regular season in the books, the Hawkeyes will return to action next week for the Big Ten Regional Weekend.  Iowa’s opponent and game location is still to be announced.
