Hawkeyes Face Northern Iowa in Friday Exhibition

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s soccer team hosts Northern Iowa in an exhibition match on Friday at 7 p.m. (CT) at the Iowa Soccer Complex. The game is Iowa’s final exhibition before the regular season kicks off Aug. 19 at DePaul.

The Hawkeyes are coming off a 3-0 exhibition victory over South Dakota. Three different Iowa players scored against the Coyotes, including seniors Hailey Rydberg and Josie Durr, as well as freshman Kenzie Roling.

UNI defeated Northern Illinois, 1-0, with a last second goal Sunday in their first exhibition contest of the year. The Panthers are a young group with just one senior on the roster, forward Johnnie Hill.

Admission to Friday’s game is free of charge. The Hawkeyes open the regular season at DePaul before returning to Iowa City on Aug. 26 for a rivalry showdown with Iowa State. That game begins at 6 p.m. and is televised live on BTN. Admission to all Iowa soccer home games is free.
