Hawkeyes Travel To UIC Before Hosting Bradley

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa baseball team travels to Chicago for a midweek matchup with UIC on Tuesday at 6 p.m. (CT) before returning home to host Bradley on Wednesday at 6:05 p.m.

Iowa brings a 25-9 overall record into the week, while UIC is 14-17 overall and Bradley is 11-20. The Hawkeyes won the first matchup with the Braves, 9-6, in Peoria, Illinois, on April 5.

As a team, UIC is hitting .256 and its pitching staff has a 7.72 ERA. They are led by Charlie Szykowny with a .325 batting average and 31 RBIs.

Bradley is hitting .269 and its pitching staff has a 7.04 ERA. The Braves are led by Ryan Vogel who is hitting .398 and Connor O’Brian with 32 RBIs.

Last week, the Hawkeyes won a midweek game against Milwaukee and won two games of a three-game series at Minnesota. Overall, the Hawkeyes are hitting .289 as a team, while averaging 8.38 runs per game. The Iowa pitching staff has a 4.22 ERA.

Keaton Anthony leads the team with a .354 batting average. Sam Hojnar has a team best 38 RBIs followed by Kyle Huckstorf with 35.

Anthony leads the team with seven home runs and Huckstorf has 12 stolen bases. Anthony leads the country with 19 doubles and 0.56 doubles per game.
