Hawkeyes Travel to Illinois State

 IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa baseball team travels to Normal, Illinois for a matchup with Illinois State at Bass Duffy Field on Tuesday for a midweek matchup beginning at 5 p.m. (CT).

The Hawkeyes come into the contest with a 13-10 record, while the Redbirds are 11-11.

As a team, Illinois State is hitting .303 and its pitching staff has a 6.77 ERA. They are led by Luke Cheng with a .373 batting average, and Daniel Pacella with 29 RBIs.

Overall, the Hawkeyes are hitting .319 as a team, while averaging 9.39 runs per game. The Iowa pitching staff has a 5.84 ERA.

Sam Petersen has started all 23 games and leads the team with a .393 batting average.

Davis Cop leads the team with 32 RBIs followed by Raider Tello with 28 and Kyle Huckstorf with 26.

Cop, Petersen and Huckstorf lead the team with five home runs each and Petersen is 13-14 on stolen base attempts.
