2009-10 — all-American, placing seventh at heavyweight at NCAA Championships… Big Ten champion, scoring a 9-6 decision over Indiana’s Nate Everhart in the finals… posted a 16-2 record, going 8-0 in dual competition and 7-0 in in Big Ten duals… scored 36 team points in dual competition… missed non-conference portion of the season due to injury… led team in dual winning percentage (1.000)… five of his 16 wins were pins… one of five Hawkeyes to earn team all-America award… letterwinner.

2008-09 — all-American, placing fourth at heavyweight at NCAA Championships… Big Ten champion, scoring a 10-2 major decision over Wisconsin’s Kyle Massey in the finals… posted a 27-8 collegiate record, going 28-8 overall… went 15-4 in dual competition and 3-1 in Big Ten duals… scored 72 team points in dual competition… named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week Jan. 27 after recording dual wins against Wisconsin and Illinois… pinned 13 opponents – all in the first period – which ranked second on the team… his fastest in of 39 seconds also ranked second on the squad… went on two seven-match winning streaks during the season… placed fifth at Midlands Championships… earned team Mike McGivern award, which is given annually to the team’s most courageous wrestler, and all-America award… letterwinner.

2007-08 — redshirted… recorded a 13-2 mark at heavyweight while wrestling unattached… won title at Jim Fox Open… placed third at Harold Nichols/Cyclone Open and Kaufman-Brand Open… pinned six opponents and scored two major decisions.

2006-07 — posted a 13-9 record overall and went 10-8 in collegiate matches at 197 pounds… went 5-5 in duals and 4-0 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena… scored 22 team points in dual competition… suffered a shoulder injury vs. Oklahoma State on Jan. 19, so did not compete in any Big Ten duals… recorded two pins and one major decision… won title at Kaufman-Brand Open… placed third at Spartan Classic while competing unattached… also competed at Midlands and Big Ten Championships… received Mike McGivern Award given annually to the team’s most courageous wrestler… letterwinner.

2005-06 — season record was 19-19 overall and 16-19 in collegiate competition at 197 pounds… went 4-11 in dual matches and 2-6 in Big Ten duals… placed sixth at Big Ten Championships to qualify for NCAA Championships… scored 15 team points in dual competition… pinned eight opponents, which ranked second on the team… went 0-4 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena… placed third at Kaufman-Brand Open… won title at Spartan Classic while competing unattached… letterwinner.

High School — won 215-pound state title senior year, after placing second as a sophomore and junior… career record of 125-13 included 97 pins and an undefeated senior season of 39-0… four-time conference champion… set school records in most pins and team points scored in a season… team captain and school athlete of the year for wrestling as a senior… won 215-pound Greco-Roman and freestyle titles at 2005 Junior West Regionals, placing second in freestyle and fourth in Greco-Roman at the National Junior Championships… lettered four years in football… honor roll student… coach was Steve DeMers.
