Aug. 31, 2003

Stats

Ann Arbor, MI – It took almost 72 minutes for a goal to be scored in the Iowa’s season-opener, and unfortunately it was Wake Forest that netted the overtime score, edging the Hawkeyes 1-0. Barbara Weinberg was strong in net for Iowa, but an unassisted goal 1:35 into the extra session proved to be the difference in favor of the Demon Deacons.

Pattie Gillern had two shots on goal to lead the Hawkeyes, who will square off again North Carolina in hopes of getting in the win column.
