Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series
The Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series is a year-long contest between the University of Iowa and Iowa State University with points awarded for victories in head-to-head matchups. Two points are also awarded for academic success.

Iowa won the innagural event, 13-8 and was presented the Cy-Hawk Series Cup on September 1.

The 2005-06 Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series will include eight events, five of which will be staged in Ames on the campus of Iowa State University.

Hawkeyes Battle, Draw With Cowgirls
Iowa played a hard fought match that ended in a 1-1 draw with Oklahoma State last Friday. Katelyn Quinn recorded Iowa’s lone goal in the 21st minute.

Oklahoma State jumped out to an early, 1-0 lead in the 18th minute off a free-kick from the top of the 18-yard box. The Hawkeyes responded quickly in the 21st minute when Quinn blasted a cross from Jamie Maltman into the back of the net for the equalizer.

Iowa Falls to Oklahoma
After a three and half hour weather delay, the Hawkeyes fell to Oklahoma, 2-0 on Sunday.

During a fast paced start, the Hawkeyes nearly netted the first goal of the contest. After a mishandle by the Oklahoma goalkeeper, sophomore Melisa Kaetterhenry collected the ball and blasted a shot that drilled the post and was cleared by the Sooners.

Oklahoma scored in the 35th and 48th minute. The Sooners nearly scored again in the 82nd minute, but sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Boldt made a tremendous diving save on a penalty kick.
