MORGANTOWN, WV – The #47 Iowa women’s gymnastics team competed in Morgantown, West Virginia today, placing third of four teams with a score of 192.250. #40 West Virginia placed first with a 195.100, #34 Ohio State came in second with a 194.500, and #48 George Washington placed fourth with a score of 190.975.
Jennifer Simbhudas and Kortny Williamson tied for third on vault with a 9.825 while Liz Grajewski placed 10th with a 9.725.
Liz Grajewski had the best bars score for Iowa with a 9.8 to tie for fourth place, and Natalie Padilla placed ninth with a 9.7.
Danielle Legeai had a strong beam performance, placing first with a 9.850. Next highest placed Hawkeyes on beam were Jennifer Simbhudas with a 9.675 for ninth place, and Liz Grajewski with a 9.575 for 11th place.
Kortny Williamson and Liz Grajewski tied for fifth on floor with a 9.825. Danielle Legeai placed ninth with a 9.725 and Ally Zipse placed 11th with a 9.7.
In the all-around, Liz Grajewski placed third with a 38.925, coming in behind Janae Cox of West Virginia, who scored 39.375, and Maalika Moore-Thomas of Ohio State who posted a score of 39.175.
The Hawkeyes return to action February 10th, hosting Denver. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m. and will take place at the UI Field House.
