Columbus, GA – Officials decided to cancel Saturday’s action at the NFCA Leadoff Classic due to heavy rain in the area. Action was originally postponed but the facilities were too damp to continue play Saturday.
Tournament personnel hope to continue play Sunday morning using two possible formats. The first format would allow all teams to play two games, with Iowa facing Hofstra at 11 a.m. and Florida State at 1 p.m. The second format would give teams one game, which would pair up the original opponents from Saturday’s rained out contests. Iowa would play Florida State at 10 a.m. using this format. Officials will wait until 7 a.m. tomorrow morning to decide what format to use.
