ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Iowa Men’s Gymnastics team fell to Michigan Saturday in Ann Arbor. The Hawkeyes scored a team total of 208.0, while the Wolverines won the meet with 217.8 total team points.

Freshman Jonathan Buese won the all-around in his second collegiate competition, scoring a 50.5. Curtis Kleffman placed second (48.3), and Diego Mercado-Austin finished third (41.35) in the all-around competition. Kleffman won the pommel horse, scoring 9.35, tied for sixth on rings (6.0) and finished eighth on floor exercise (9.05). On rings, J. Buese and Jacques Bouchard tied for second, 9.45. Jake Becker finished third on parallel bars (9.4) and Matt Beiler came in fifth (8.9). Geoff Reins finished third on floor, scoring 9.45.

Iowa opens its home season January 27 against Illinois-Chicago in the UI Fieldhouse. Competition begins at 2 p.m.
