CHICAGO, IL –
The University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team beat Illinois-Chicago Saturday at the UIC physical education building. The Hawkeyes scored a team total of 338.575, while the Flames posted 334.750.
Freshman Ben Ketelsen placed third in the all-around for the second time this season with a score of 81.60. Geoff Reins placed first on vault with a score of 16.050 and placed second on floor exercise with a 14.600. Reid Urbain placed first on floor exercise scoring a 14.750. Tom Buese won the horizontal bar with a score of 14.025, while Curtis Kleffman placed first on pommel horse scoring 14.050.
Iowa will be back in Iowa City February 2 to compete against the University of Michigan. Competition will begin at 2:00 p.m.
