The Iowa men’s gymnastics team placed third, falling to Illinois and Minnesota Friday, with a final score of 343.75. Big Ten rival Illinois placed first, scoring 353.95, while Minnesota finished second, scoring 351.50.
Hawkeye senior Curtis Kleffman competed in all six events, placing third overall in the all-around competition, with a final score of 85.60. Kleffman earned a fifth place finish on horizontal bar, with a score of 14.30. On pommel horse, Jacob Becker placed second, scoring 14.70. Reid Urbain scored 14.55 on rings, posting a third place finish for the Hawkeyes.
The Hawkeyes will return to action April 4-5 when they travel to University Park, PA to compete in the 2008 Big Ten Championships.
