Iowa starter Zach Kenyon had his best outing of the season, throwing four solid innings, allowing no earned runs and striking out one in earning his first win as a Hawkeye.
Senior Caleb Curry ignited the Hawkeye offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, collecting a season-best four RBI. Juniors Kevin Hoef and Justin Toole and senior Kyle Riffel each scored two runs for the Black and Gold. Eight different Hawkeyes registered at least one hit in victory.
The Hawkeyes return to Duane Banks Field this weekend when they host the Northwestern Wildcats in a four-game series. The first game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday night.
